Gallipoli is one of the most relevant places when it comes to World War I. It was through this area that the allies tried to get through in order to conquer Istanbul. It was also a major victory for the central powers. You will learn more about this war and, in particular, what happened in this incredible site. You will visit places like Brighton beach, Anzac Cove, Lone Pine and many others.
Every year, on the 25th of April, there's a dawn service (time of the landing), in the Anzac Cove, which is witness by thousands of people.

The day starts with an early departure from Istanbul (06:30am) and we will drive to Gallipoli, where you will learn all about the battle that once took place there.
Our first stop is Dardanelles (Hellespont), a strategic point, through which, the allies attempted to get throught in order to conquer Istanbul. Later on, we will continue to a War Museum, which contains battle relics such as original diary and letters extracts or weapons and personal belongings.
After, it’s time to visit the Brighton beach, the intended landing place for the Anzac troops and also the Anzac Cove, where the dawn service is held each year on 25th April. At this time we will have lunch and end our day by visiting the Lone Pine Australian Memorial, Johnston's Jolly, the Chunk Bair New Zealand Memorial and the Kilitbahir fortress, which was built in 1452 by Mehmet II, the Conqueror, to honor his successful siege of Constantinople.
Once the tour is completed, we will drive back to Istanbul and drop you off to your hotel.
